The Egyptian Museum in Cairo, Egypt

I'm not really a museum guy. I typically walk through quickly taking photos if allowed, but I don't stop to dwell on any particular item. For me it's more of just getting a flavor for the documented past of that particular site.


But there's no way I could not stop here. I mean, mummies? Yes please, give me more! I've seen too many movies as a kid involving these things coming back to life to avoid this place.

I thought about tickling his foot but I was afraid he'd move.



That's one important dog to be mummified!


A lot of the museum is redundant. I spent about an hour inside. I expect many spend 1/2 day or more. The entrance fee is about $8 USD.

I think the architecture of the building and how well the sculptures are real to life is what impresses me the most. After you see one mummy they all resemble the next one only difference is arms crossed or you tickling ones feet
